Grants and Fundraising
2026-2027 DMC/GCORR Grant Process
Step 1
Read through this cycle’s grant description, found in the CORR Action Fund Disability Ministries Grant Application 2026-2027. This grant cycle is different in that program initiatives rather than accessibility improvements for physical facilities will be funded this year. Please note the focus on historically marginalized and underserved populations.
Step 2
Gather a team of people from your church or camp to prayerfully brainstorm about potential initiatives that meet the grant criteria. Make sure that disabled people are in key leadership positions, not just brought in at the end to review plans that have already been made. Imagine what you could do to promote disability justice in historically marginalized and underserved groups within your church and community. Projects should promote disability justice through advocacy, education, and/or empowerment. Pray about what God is calling you to do to faithfully meet local needs, challenges, or opportunities.
Step 3
Carefully read through the Grant Application section (pp. 3-6), agree on a plan, and develop a tentative budget and funding plan. Discuss goals and objectives for your initiative. Discuss potential obstacles and how to overcome them.
Step 4
Assign team members to complete the various sections of the application form.
Reconvene to discuss and agree on the responses, then complete the Application.
Step 5
Make sure you have completed an accessibility audit within the last 18 months - if not, work with the Trustees and a team that includes disabled people to complete it.
US churches should submit an Annual Accessibility Audit for UM Churches*
Regional Conference churches may submit the Basic Accessibility Audit for UM Churches.*
Camps should submit the Camp Mini-Audit for Accessibility.*
Step 6
Contact your District Superintendent or other appropriate person per the “Instructions for Application Endorsement” on p. 2 and request that they read the application and write an Endorsement Letter* for your project. The letter needs to include a brief description of the project and its leadership, the amount requested and overall project budget, and how they think that the project will help meet the DMC grant goals of promoting disability justice through advocacy, education, and/or empowerment.
Step 7
Submit the completed Application, Audit, and Endorsement Letter, Audited Financial Statement for 2025, plus any additional material, to information@umcdmc.org by midnight PST on January 25, 2027.2026-2027 DMC/GCORR Grant Process
